The largest size you could put without rubbing is 31. 32 or 33′s will rub when you make turns. A 2 inch lift would stop it. 16×10 rims would control some of the rubbing
I know plenty of people that are running that tire with no lift, some have a mild rub, some have none at all. Make sure the backspacing on the rim is right, about 3.75 or so. Better yet, just get a 10.5″ wide tire.
dont mind the spacers – start with the correct rims. you can not put 12 wide tires on a 8 inch rim, unless you want them to bubble on the top cutting the mileage in half.
then after that lift it. nothing looks worse than too much tire. 3′ body is okay a 4′ suspension is better
If you got at least 4″ lift and 3.5″ backspace in your rims don’t worry!!
The JK has up to 32″ stock and if you go over to http://www.jeepforum.com you will find people running 33″ on stock suspension without rubbing. If you are going to buy that size tire I would consider wider rims, or better yet a narrower tire. Its cheaper, and less likely to rub.
