2003 Toyota Camry Plastic Steering Wheel Cover

My Steering wheel is sqeaking when making a turn, many suggested to use lithium grease underneath the steering wheel cover…anyone know how to take the cover off? Does it pop off??
If anyone had any experience in taking the thing off, I would appreciate the advice…Thanks in advance.

I bet your turn signal is whats squeaking.

Yes, the problem is under the steering wheel, but if you are not a mechanic I suggest that you take it to a shop. This takes a puller, and other tools just to remove the steering wheel.

Try giving it a shot of WD-40. Spray it on and wipe the excess off. That should do it.

To start, just spray a little WD40 in the area. If the noise goes away, it’s the plastic part but don’t try to get it off yourself – airbag will explode if you don’t know what you are doing.
It is also possible that this is the shaft bearing, in that case you have no choice other than going to a dealership.
