Wheel Damaged During Wheel Lock Removal

Posted in Spare Tire Accessories | Asked on Sep 3, 2010

I had a leak on one of my tire so I tried to put on the spare for the first for my gti.
I have changed to spare many times before though, but I realized that there was no wheel lock key.
I never gotten them from my dealer. I bought my car from a private dealer called nxcess in houston, so I called them up. They connected me to one of their mechanics and he told me to go to this wheel repair to get the wheel lock taken out, so I went and they hammered my wheel lock so hard all four wheel had scrubs on one socket and the machined finish have fallen off. Is there anything I can do?
Is it my fault even if it was the dealer that never gave me the key?
Is there anything I can do to get it repaired? Hopefully in their expense? They were the one that didn’t provided lock key and sent me to a place that messed up my wheels?

They should have insurance they obviously didn’t know what they were doing. Vw could have got you a key. Also there are specialty tool kits to remove locks. Mat co makes one.

They used the wrong socket for the job if they damaged the other holes and the friction peeled the coating off ( I think thats what you are writing) go get the wheel lock, or the other three will look like that one, when you do not have the wheel locks, just exactly what do you want??? its either pound the crap out of something or sit I suggest you buy another wheel rim, and while doing that, buy the stupid wheel lock you should already have, best of luck get the wheel lock key soon.
