I just ran a code check and it came back that the Crank Shaft Position Sensor is bad.
I dont know if that means the sensor is bad or the Crank Shaft is bad???
It is on a 1990 Subaru Legacy 2.2L MFI 4cyl
The car only has 85K ...

The vehicle still starts well and uses no oil or water. However at 2000 rpm white smoke billows from the exhaust and the vehicle will not go above 30 mph. Any ideas anyone? The engine is a 2.5L 12 valve non turbo diesel, year 2000.
