My 92 Nissan altima ac compressor belt is blown out and have to replace a new one. Tried to change it but its too tight to put it on. Do I have to loosten the nut on the compressor pulley?? Tried but it was too hard ...

Im getting overcharged for a tune up so i did the spark plugs and wires myself now i just need to do the distributor cap and rotor. Maybe my car will stop jerking when i accelarate uphill.
