My 06 Caravan has only 16,672 miles on it and already needed a brake job. Both front rotors were resurfaced and I had them install ceramic pads.I have owned many cars in the past including when I was a teen and drove a lot harder and never got this little life from my front brakes. I dont speed or brake hard or ride the brakes for that matter. I drive mostly in the city with lots of stop and go but ...
I think all it needs is for the brake pads to be changed. There is a little squeaking but very minor so I think the discs are ok. These brakes are high performance brakes that came with the car off the lot.
Will I have to bleed the brakes?
No beer until the job is done !!!
I was looking at O'Reilly's and Auto Zone. They have so many to choose from. I have disc brakes in the front. I hate going to the "Brake Specialists" because they charge a ridiculous amount and way overprice my parts and the parts are more expensive generic parts that cost more than the quality parts I can get myself.
I need to take my car into the garage soon, as I fear my brakes are about done. I've never had the brakes on the GT replaced before--so I have no idea how much they'll cost.
Anyone have any ideas?
I only have bad experience with brakes. My 89' Regal needed brakes almost once a year and each time the calipers seized and had to also be replaced. The job ended up being upwards of $800. I'm hoping this is rare.
The mechanic just called. My front brakes on my '93 Nissan Sentra need pads and the rotors refaced. The same thing needs done on the rear brakes, plus the real wheel cylinder is leaking. What do you think this all should cost me?
okay....I probably said that wrong about the rear brakes. He said the thing is leaking is all. Didn't say anything about the pads etc. He said it would cost $266 for everything.
I own a 1998 Dodge Grand Caravan with 223,000 miles and a 3.8 liter engine. While driving on the highway, I started to go down a steep hill and the steering wheel started to shake hard and irregular. I thought the wheel was falling off. The next day a Chrysler mechanic looked at it and said the wheels and all front end suspension components looked good and he could not duplicate the problem. I decided to drive ...
I'm looking for some good brakes I don't race. I just need some brakes to replace my OEM brakes. I'm looking for ultra-low dust, low noise compound Ceramic. Also quieter performing brake pad & rotor-friendly. I'm going to replace my rotors as well and my brake line do you have any ideas for that as well?
Needs alternator and probably a new battery as well.
Sliding door is permanently stuck shut.
Front tires will need replacing soon as well.
Exhaust system is getting loud.
Runs well however and brakes are good also.
BTW, the car is in the USA.
It is a donated car but we don't need it and the donor knows that we intend to sell it.
I was having a pulling to the left in my car, and decided I'd get an inspection done on the car. Turns out it was related to the brakes. I asked them to do an estimate on the cost to fix it and this is what I got back (I asked for a copy of the work report).
