OK hi. OMG i have a car EMERGENCY!! my CHECK ENGINE light is on!!
It's a 1996 Honda Civic 150,126 Miles. I put on like 10,000 miles and i've had it since graduating highschool in 2007.
The things that I've had to had worked on since i've owned it:
- New Oil Pan and some exhaust pipe
- Oil Changes
I brought it to Auto Zone and they determined the engine light code said "Cylinder 2 Misfire"
The Autozone guy was kindof ...
My 2001 Chevy Silverado has it's check engine light on reporting a cylinder 8 misfire (twice) and knock sensor 2 fail... I am pretty new to auto repairs and not very familiar with anything other than regular maintenance. What steps should I take to fix the check engine troubles? The engine sound good still and runs fine... Will replacing spark plugs possibly solve o2 sensor problems and engine misfire? Thanks.
I have a 97 honda civic ex, replaced timing belt, water pump, complete tune up. my cel light is on, i had it scanned says cylinder 1 and 2 misfire. car is a little sluggish at times but runs good, getting about 210 miles out of a tank of gas, car doesnt smoke or overheat. what could be causing misfire? oil leak? this is the only thing wrong with this car, going to have to end up taking it to a ...
I have a 2000 ford Taurus my check engine light is on. I got it diagnosed they said I have a cylinder misfire. They said check my distributor cap. I called auto zone to see how much a distributor cap costs and they said my car doesn’t have one. If I don’t have a distributor cap what do I have? and how to I fix a cylinder misfire? I have already got my wires and plugs checked and changed.
The distributor and the cables are fine. how likely is it to have a bad distributor cap? the car check engine light is on. the reading gives a misfire on cylinder 1. what can i do to diagnose the problem? is this a good strategy?
*change the distributor cap.
*if all of above fails, change the intake manifold
*if all of above fails, change the head gasket
I recently replaced the two O2 sensors before the catalytic converter and my car started shaking. I took it to a 'reputable' mechanic shop and they performed a tuneup to fix the misfire on cylinder 6. They tested the coils, changed the spark plugs, etc. and couldn't fix the problem. I scanned my car and the codes I got were that the knock sensor is malfunctioning (this is not causing the shaking, for sure). I got the oxygen sensors codes which ...
The only OBDII code pulled is P0300. I have replaced spark plugs, PCV Valve, ignition wires, distributor cap, rotor, all with no effect on the misfire.
The engine has, in time, gotten worse. It will cut off at different speeds, under all different conditions. This makes me think it's something other than fuel supply.
These are the trouble codes I get in the dash using the check engine light and switching the key on and off 3 times. The 11 showed ...
Hi! I have a 1999 VW Beetle with a Check Engine Light on. I had it hooked up to the computer and got back three codes:
P0300 Random/multiple cylinder misfire detected
P0302 Cylinder no. 2 misfire detected
P0303 Cylinder no. 3 misfire detected
About a month ago my car was in the shop for some massive (and ridiculously expensive) repairs. The stuff they did was:
Replaced the head gasket
Repaired a crack in the cylinder head
Replaced the timing belt and water pump
Change/replaced the temperature sensor (temp. ...
I have been trying to search online but can't find info. the mechanic said $900 to fix it. is that about right? the check engine light came on sun and i took it to autozone and the knock and cyl 4 misfire codes came up so i believe the garage. but the autozone printout did have other possible reasons than replacing everything like maybe it's a spark plug or something less expensive. but either way is 900 a decent price? if ...
I have 03 audi a4 and always get cylinder 4 misfire. Spark plugs, coils, injectors, everything has been checked and nothing helped. It also shows p0328 error, which is knock sensor. So my question is, can knock sensor cause cylinder 4 misfire and if yes, why only cylinder 4?
It usually misfires on low rpm, for example when I stay at a traffic light.
