Posted in Oil Filters | Asked on May 28, 2010

I know this is probably a silly question, never had to change my oil before myself I know how to though. im about to put in mobile 1 synthetic 5W-20 into my 03 honda civic and was just wondering if it matters what oil filter i use. i also got a mobil 1 oil filter which i assume would be just fine, but just making sure.
thanks

Just like anything else there is a difference in quality. You get what you pay for. Mobil 1 is great oil and the filters that they manufacture are great as well. Good choice.

If it is the filter specified for that vehicle, it doesn’t matter who put their name on it.

There are many good oil filters out there. Just be sure you get the correct mobil 1 oil filter. Each brand filter is numbered to show that cars they will fit. Also, try http://www.bobistheoilguy.com, for they have very useful information there.
