The one thing you are not thinking of is the exhaust getting into the car.
If it is making noise, then if you do cut it off, make shure that the replacement pipe you you put on extends past the rear bumper. It keeps the exhaust from entering the car.
Remember this gas is color and has no order so it can and does slowly kill you.

It won’t be much louder but you’re much better off fixing it right and putting on a new clamp and hanger. You run the risk of getting carbon monoxide fumes in your car’s interior if you cut the pipe.

It’s not a good idea at all. It will be LOUD – I’d say close to 90 dB inside the car. 2 feet from the rear bumper will include the muffler. You may also give yourself Carbon Monoxide poisoning. There is also the possibility of setting fire to the undercoating. There is a reason that exhaust pipes go all the way past the bumper.

If you cut off the muffler it will be VERY loud. The cops will likely notice the noise eventually so I wouldn’t drive like that for very long or they will give you a ticket for it.

You can get an estimate for free at the local muffler shop.

You should not own a car. Did someone give you this car and you simply feel like screwing it up.

Don’t “saw” anything off a car. That is so idiotic.

To answer your question, the car would be louder than stock and would sound like crap more than likely. exhaust systems are made specificly for each car so they run right. if you just chop off the muffler and leave it a straight pipe from the cat conv, you are gonna notice a difference in mileage along with screwing up the back pressure of your exhaust.

cutting it that far back is not a smart idea because it is right under the passengers in the back. it would be loud and annoying, but my truck is running over 170 dB and i have it set up for that. you will not kill anyone with carbon monoxide poisoning if you are driving around or even just sitting in it at idle. if u park inside a garage there is a greater chance of that happening.

yes you can put a tip on later but it will still be louder. the tip will just act as a megaphone for the exhaust seeing you want to chop off the muffler. it does what it is supposed to do… muffle the exhaust, cut it out and you wont have it muffled nearly as much
