Do u need a catalytic converter on a F-250 diesel changing my exhaust system in TEXAS?

    It depends on the year of the vehicle, how it was originally equipped and in what county.

    If you have a 2007 or newer F-250 that came with cats, they will be required in any of the emission controlled counties in Texas. To remove the cat requires some computer modifications, as the computer monitors the efficiency of the cat.

    If you live in a non-emission controlled county OR the vehicle is over 24 years of age, you do not need catalytic converters as the vehicle is not subject to emission testing.
