Catback Vs Tip Exhaust

Ive got a 240sx with a weld on tip to the exhaust and im thinking about getting a cat back system for it. it is really worth the money to get one. in other words will it show more power than the tip does now or is it about the same regardless of that it will sound better.

A cat-back system is worth it. Get a good one i.e Gibson, flowmax… You get what you pay for. I have one on my 4runner (Gibson) and have noticed a gain in my midrange. You should also think about putting in an aircharger with it. They both will sound great and give you hp gains….
A tip is purely cosmetic, unless you get one so horribly designed it restricts power. A good cat-back might give you 5 hp or so on this car; your call as to whether the price is worth it. If the car has major mods like a turbo, however, a cat-back is definitely a good idea.
