Can I Cut Some Of My Exhaust Pipe Off

I bought a new muffler tip but the old rusty one still shows through. Is it safe to cut a few inches off my old exhaust pipe ?

    sure, just leave enough pipe there to bolt the new tip on and you will be fine.

    You should have no problem doing that. Depending on the state laws. I know in VA, the exhaust has to extend out from under the bumper. You won’t cause any mechanical problems though.

    As long as you don’t cut anything before your muffler, you will be fine. It does depend on your local laws though.

    Dont , that is so just plain stupid. what so your car can sound like a weed eater> save money and buy a new magnaflow exaust
