2001 F450 Diesel Super Duty. Problems With Accel. Pedal To The Floor And It Won’t Accelerate.

Sometimes it seems as though it would hang up when trying to change into the next gear, but still wouldn’t accel..when i put the pedal to the floor it will shoot gray smoke out the exhaust pipe. it just started and it’s never done this before……please help, thanks

    You have to replace your fuel filter, they might be clogging with dirt causing poor acceleration. Have your fuel pump and fuel pump relay check if they are working properly. faulty pump causes poor acceleration also. I suggest a good mechanic check the timing of your car, it maybe to advance or later. A nice tune-up will also helps!

    Its going to be your accelerator pedal asy that is the problem. You will need to tell the parts guy at Ford whether or not you have fixed or adjustable pedals. The basic part number is 9F836
