Some can be difficult to replace. Post a picture of the location. From home I am not able to access Mitchell’s or Alldata.

With the right tools, you can do it in about 20 to 30 minutes. Very easy job. The thermostat will be around $20.00 at an auto parts store. Dealership will be around $35.00

    Hope this helps.

PS. don’t forget to top off the coolant, and bleed air from system if a bleeder screw is on the thermostat housing.

Well I am not sure what it looks like under your hood, but usually thermostats are right at the end of the upper radiator hose (where the hose is connected to the engine block or cylinder head) and not much in the way. Thermostats are cheap like under 10 bucks, but get a Stant or other high quality exact replacement. New engines are like really expensive. If you have time go to a library or spend 20 bucks to get a manual at the auto parts store to do it yourself.

In this case a mechanic would do this very quickly indeed and not charge too much like a half hour or hour tops. Might be a pretty good deal for you in this situation.
