Car Wont Start, NEW BATTERY
Posted in Car Batteries | Asked on Jul 1, 2010New battery, on the charger/starter it claims the battery is dead?? ok? that doesnt make much sense? Even when jump started it wont turn over. I have a feeling it’s not getting enough fuil to actually turn over. Could there be a problem with my fuel pump in the attempt to start my vehicle?

The engine does not have to get fuel to turn over. It has to get fuel, however, to start. I would check into your starter since the car fails to even turnover.
its possibly the Fuel pump as u said or check the fuel filter and spark plugs
it can also be the altinator, mines had the same problem, no matter how much you change or charge the battery your car will still turn off, go to a mechanic and let them check it out, im sure that it got to be the altinator….good luck……..
are you putting the right key in the ignition switch
Are any lights on in the car such as the interior dome light? If so, then the battery is not dead. If the lights are on but then dim during cranking then the battery is not fully charged but not dead. In this case try rev’ving the engine of the car used to jump start this car for a minute before starting this car and rev that engine during cranking to see if that overcomes the discharged state. If the lights are on and don’t dim while cranking yet the engine does not sound like it is turning over at all, then it is a starting system problem. Of course, if there are no lights on in the car when this battery is plugged in then it needs to be charged. If you try charging it to no avail then there it is a fault in the battery.
The fuel pump will not keep it from turning over in itself . Need to check cables and/or starter.
some of these guys are cracks fuel no if youre car is not turning over there is acouple things to check sometimes when you buy a new battery it doesnt always come charged youre starter could be dead or youre altinator being bad will not keep tghe battery charged but start simple try charging the battery first secong take the altinator to auto store for test and if all fails its youre starter get it replaced
