What Performance Parts Are Actually Worth Buying
Posted in Air Intakes System | Asked on May 26, 2010I have a 1995 Ford F-150 4×4 with a 5.8L engine. I was wondering what performance parts actually work cuz I hear good and bad about them. Which ones are worth the money? Headers, throttle body spacers, special spark plugs, etc?

headers
K&N……….. however if you wanted a lightining you should have purchaced one
headers, exhaust, TIRES!!(despite common misconception tires can actualy bring out proformance in your car better than alot of things), intake if you want
A stroker kit: http://www.nthcoast.com/store/index.php?cPath=91&osCsid=b85c8db025bd227cf6d1baed0dc0cffe
Cold air intake and a cat back exhaust system
They all work with varying degrees. You wouldn’t know the difference in some of them unless you are on the race track where they could take time off your runs.
For instance, a K&N could take off up to 0.2 seconds off your time depending on the engine buildup. For REGULAR safe and sane street driving it does no more help than any other filter.
Unless you want to “race”, no performance part is actually worth buying.
I don’t think they do anything to help your gas milage.
