Water In Only Half The Cylinders
Posted in Air Intakes System | Asked on Feb 4, 2012Ok weird question but i dont really know how to ask it. we have a 97 dodge intrepid and recently i asked about the muffler shortly after that we had water in our intake manifold but its only in 3 of the 6 cylinders 1, 3 and 5 and now me and my bf are scratching our heads and wondering now what? anyone can suggest anything, at this point i am seriously thinking about junking it and trying to find a new car.
ok the popular answer seems to be head gasket any one know how to explain how to replace this to me? i have chilton/hanyes books but at this point i want to scream everytime i look at them.

Probably blown head gasket if you only have water on one side.
Good Luck,
You have a leaky head gasket or one head is cracked. Cylinder 1,3 &5 are all on one side of your engine. you are looking at least $350 worth of repairs. Is the car worth that much too you?
Hate to tell you but you have a blown head gasket on the one side, don’t drive it like that or you will be replacing the whole engine.
If you’re getting water in the manifold and cylinders, the engine has a blown head gasket on one side of the engine. I would recommend replacing both sides with new head gaskets at the same time if you decide to to it yourself. Water does run through the engine, but isn’t suppose to make it into the cylinders. You want gas to be in the cylinders, not water.
Yup, sounds like a blown head gasket. Leaking coolant internally into the cylinders.
Soaplake—– Where do you find a head gasket replacement (with a head) for $350.00?????????
