Is The Intake Manifold The Same Thing As The Exhaust Manifold

I have a 98 honda civic and i am researching a problem i have with my speedometer and alternator and eld and well i need to know if what i am readign about the intake manifold…… my mechanic told me i need another exhaust manifold…….

Well no, one is an intake and one is an exhaust
They are two completely different parts. The intake manifold is where the engine draws in air and fuel. The exhaust manifold is where the hot exhaust gasses from each cylinder combine into one exhaust pipe.

No they are not the same and neither has anything to do with your speedometer or alternator either.
Inlet manifold is where the air and fuel mixture go into the engine, can be made from aluminum or plastic. The exhaust manifold allow the burnt fuel and air to exit the engine and to be directed down to the exhaust to be silenced before it exits the rear of the vehicle, they are normally very rusty in colour and made from cast iron or stainless steel.
Moving on to you ELD, the ELD (Electronic Load Detector) is normally situated in the under hood fuse box and allows the ECM to monitor fluctuations in the charging rate from the Alternator. The ECM needs to know this information so it is able to calibrate the information from the Oxygen sensor to maintain a correct air fuel ratio. The ELD will cause a charging fault if it goes wrong.
