Depending on the car and what your looking for you would be a lot better off changing the intake manifold.

I was watching a test on a big block engine this weekend, and they got around 20 HP gain by adding the spacer.
Now, we’re talking about a motor putting out 640 HP, so obviously, if you’re running a 4 banger, you wont see much of a difference, if any.

If its a TBI engine I noticed a differance in a little more bottom end. Some engines respond to them and some actually do not or lose power. If the engine needs more air raising the carb with a spacer is a good idea.
Your basically making your intake higher creating more velocity going into the intake, which in turn gives more velocity of air going into the cylinder.
Like stated though some respond to it and others dont.
