Any Other Ways To Add Power To My 94 5.0 Mustang

Posted in Air Intakes System | Asked on Jul 14, 2010

Aside from:

Cold Air Intake
Tornado Fuel Saver
Flowmaster 40 Series Exhaust
BBK Long arm headders
BBK X-pipe
Race Chip
Throttle Body Spacer
MSD Ignition
MSD Plugs/Wires
MSD Cap/rotor
Alloy Heads
Stage 2 Cam
K&N Oil filter
Royal Purple 10w30 oil

I DO NOT WANT TO BOOST THE CAR. ALL MOTOR BABY!!
now replacing the motor or buying a new car isnt part of the question. if you really want to know the motor has just over 13k on it. I received the car from my grandpa who passed away and he had 4 cars. That averages to 1000 miles a year

    Wouldn’t it just be simpler and cheaper to get a new car rather than trying to supe up a 13 year old motor that’s past its best.

    Shell Premium Gasoline and Castrol Oil, they keep the engine cleaner.

    put a chevrolet motor in it

    Change your rear gear ratio. I am assuming your still running stock gears. Go with a 3.73 or in that range. You will notice a nice change.

    1st what is your goal for this vehicle?
    * acceleration
    * top speed

    Conceivably; you could get over 500 hp out of a SBC Ford on the street without boosting it.

    Don’t forget a new intake. Maybe you thought of that but forgot to list it. I agree with another poster, change the gears, I would say 3.73′s are good for the street as well. I forget if that Mustang came with an electric fan. If you not you could do that. Add roller rockers too. Toss out the Tornado fuel saver, it’s junk.

    the Ford 302 is a stout engine to start with for a project. Some things to look at would be a shift kit if its a automatic, or a nice cluctch if its a stick. While those two dont produce more power, they do allow better use of the power you already have. You can also purchase a smog pump delete and an electric fan. By reducing the amount of pullies being turned, there is less drag on the engine. YOu really dont need a tb spacer, but a nice MAF and TB will do you good. You can also look at some larger injectors. Basically with out knowing the details of what is already done to the car its hard to say where to start. you dont want to just throw parts at a car. You do need to make sure the parts you buy are going to work well together. Search for some local message boards for mustangs or just cars in general. Do your homework.

    You didn’t mention if its a roller cam but I am assuming it is . The stock ford roller lifters are heavy and will limit your rpm , which could save your motor . A good set of roller rockers will help free up friction loss .

    I am also assuming the alloy heads flow well or a little exhaust porting would help .

    Other than what you have done your compression ratio is a big factor . Get a copy of “Desk Top Dyno” and see what one point in added compression will do . Try badongo.com/file/1466909 and see if that guy still has free copies of desk top dyno .

    change ur gears to 3.73.
    dont get 4.10, thats to much for street.

    to boost the car? all motor?
    meaning no supercharger? because thats what your probably looking at after a few more mods.
    that would make huge gains, however it could rip your drivetrain to pieces if you dont strengthen it.
