Check SummitRacing.com , they might even have a package of carb & intake available.
Holley and Edelbrock. Here:
http://www.jegs.com/
Check for matched intake/carb combos.
Summit is also a good place to look. Jeg’s is a bit less expensive though.
Go to the auto parts store and check on aftermarket intake and carb
try elebrock jr intake and a holley carb
Dude a 360 is a powerhouse, i have one in my roadrunner here is what i did. go to summit racing on line or jegs, i got the eldabrock performer rpm 4barrel intake with egr. its all aluminum, and a carter 9001 afb 4barrel 650cfm carb. its basically the same as the eldabrock carb. I got a ton of performance and my mpg didn’t suffer at all. actually its a bit better than the factory 2barrel intake i had on it.. shop around on line from summit and jegs and anyplace else you can find and compare. but for that motor this is a great set up. even the choke works so much better. and i also got the small mopar air cleaner to go with all of it. The carb is easy to tune and i think you will be happy. gives the car a more throaty sound and more noticeable.
If that was a 1969, I’d say put your heart and soul in it. By 1979, the lean burn and other smog equipment cut the legs off this engine. There’s potential, if you want to spend a lot of money to get the other 200 hp you should be getting, but stock, all you get is 175. By now the plastic coating is almost all worn off the timing gear and when that’s done, the engine will stop running until you replace them. With the 2 bbl carb, your mileage is about 10 mpg. A 4-bbl is gonna make you cry like a girl for what gas will cost every week.
I’ll take all this back if you get the same performance Jayt is talking about. Go ahead. Anything else is better than what you have. What I hope is that you can get 20mpg and 350 hp. Those Mopars are tough. I had a hose pop and the thing got redhot on the exhaust manifolds- glowing in the dark, by the time I shut it off and it didn’t even seize. I was still crying at the gas pump feeding that monster.
Get a Edelbrock performer intake with a Edelbrock 650 CFM. carb and you will be in business, summitracing.com or jegs.com sells these items.
