Some alarm systems are really a pain in the a$$ to remove, I would recommend you taking it to someone how knows about this.
Really, I recommend you not doing this by yourself.
Those systems are cunning. It takes knowledge and skill to work with them. Parts are hidden and disguised to discourage knaves, thieves, brigands and pirates. You need the folks who put the system in to fix it.
It sounds like GM’s Passlock system, not an after-market alarm installation. Try turning the key to the “on” position, and leave it there for 15 minutes. (Set your parking brake first, so that the truck won’t roll, and so that automatic headlights won’t be on). After that, see if it will start.
if its factory you have to contact dlr/if its installed they usually put the stuff at the knee bolster on drivers side//remove this and check for unit//if its there track it down to where they cut into system//usually yellow or purple wire//disconnect from this wire and connect the wire back together and its boom away you go
