My Kenwood car stereo readout work but it doesn’t light so I can’t see it at night. What could be wrong?

    If it did work and has suddenly stopped working it may be that the bulbs that illuminate the readout have burned out. I had a Rampage stereo in my car and this happened to me. I took the faceplate off and found that all of the little light bulbs had burned out at once. I think there must have been an electrical overload for that to happen! They are soldered into place and can be replaced, but there were 12 of them and I just didn’t want to deal with it.

    If it has never worked after being installed I would guess that it has a separate lighting wire that is tied into your instrument lights and it was never connected or never connected properly.
