How Do I Add A Subwoofer And An Amp To My Current Amp And Four Speakers
Posted in Car Electronics | Asked on Apr 3, 2011I currently have a Kenwood head unit along with front infinity 4×6 speakers, rear infinity 6×9 speakers, and a four channel amplifier powering everything. The problem is there is so much clarity to infinity speakers, that you have very little bass. I think I want to add a mono channel infinity amplifier, and a 12 inch infinity subwoofer. How difficult is this going to be?

Not very. Use adequate power/ground wires for the sub amp. Run a small wire from the remote turn-on terminal from the 4channel amp to the sub amp. Run RCA’s from the 4channel amps’ RCA outputs to the sub amps’ RCA inputs.

Pretty easy because you already have an amp and for your remote and RCA wires you can tap into the first amp, now as far as the power wire from the battery you may need to go with a lower gauge (thicker), and the same goes for the ground
