Car Stereo Wiring

Posted in Car Electronics | Asked on Mar 14, 2011

I am installing a kenwood stereo (model KDC-6015) into my 1991 chevy s-10. I need to know what all the wires are for. Which colors do what? And then which ones do I connect them to inside the truck? I just took out the stock stereo, so it has all the original wiring.

Go here http://www.metraonline.com for the harness adapter and trim kit you’ll need.

Once you find the right part number, you should be able to find it at Best Buy.

If you already cut off the harness, you can also find it at the site as well.

you need to match up the colors of the wires. the front speakers, rear speakers, antenna, battery, etc…. most if the wires are not needed
