Car Amplifier And Subwoofer

Recently I bought Alpine IDAX300 stereo and Alpine speakers for eclipse’03. They sound pretty good better than my factory Infinity speakers. Now i am planning to upgrade it by adding sub. My question is does subwoofer takeup space of my trunk. Do subwoofer come in small size or can be fitted some where so that i dont have to sacrifice space in my car. If yes please let me know

    Well, it depends on the size of the subwoofer you are planning on putting in your car. It also depends on the size of the box, and the amount of subwoofers. A single 12 inch sub will do good if your not looking for anything loud. Yes, it may take up a little amount of space from your trunk. But, if you want good sound, it’s the only way to go.

    Companies like JL or sub box companies make special enclosures that hide away off to the side in the trunk almost as it wasn’t there. but most of these are low wattage and dont bump as hard as you would want. and they come loaded with a sub.costing more(price of sub plus box)

    but companies make shallow boxes for smaller subs that should work and there cheaper.
