Posted in Car Electronics | Asked on Feb 21, 2012I have a Pioneer deh-p6800mp car stereo and a MP200 Sansa MP3 player. Can I play my mp3 player directly through my deh-p6800mp or do I have to use a FM Transmitter? I have an FM Transmitter but quality isn’t great. Thanks.

What kind of audio jacks does the car stereo provide? My old truck has a cassette player and the MP3 can connect to a cassette replacement, but most cars have CD players now which won’t work.
Go to like Best Buy, Circuit City, or an equivalent. The have and FM transmitter that connects directly to your antennae in the back of you unit. Apparently thats the best way to go.
If you go to best buy or circuit city (or ebay) you can get the connector that plugs into where a cd changer would be plugged into…. this is what i did with my ipod and my deh-p660, then you put the radio on auxiliary, connect the mp3 to the other end of the cable and it plays awesome (like a cd would) no static at all

It’s not wireless.
It feeds your audio signal from a headphone jack ( or RCA cables) by FM modulation, directly into the antenna input on your radio bypassing the antenna when on, allowing the radio to work as normal when off. It comes with an On/Off switch that can used or it can be replaced with a relay powered by the remote wire from the radio (is so equiped).
This is the answer. Totally versatile.
Your deck has AUX input jack on the back of the deck. Use 3.5mm headphone jack. Turn radio off, hold function button, scroll till you see AUX and turn it on. Now when you press source you get the AUX input activated. P.S. it is better than FM wireless sound wise.
