My Car Won’t Stay Running After Heating Up, What’s Going On

Posted in Air Freshener | Asked on Mar 13, 2011

Alright, I have a 1996 Eclipse 2.0L n/a.
I killed the last engine so one from another eclipse with 80,000 miles.
During the swap, I replaced the axles, battery, alternator, coil pack, spark plugs, spark plug wires, thermostat, gaskets, clutch, flywheel, throw out bearing, all new fluids and of course a new air freshener.

Alright, so my car starts up nice and perfect, bam. BUT after a while when the engine heats up, it starts jerking around and the RPM’s go all over the place, then the car just dies. I tried re starting the car but it either gives an attempt at starting or starts but idles super low for 5 seconds then dies. Weird thing is, no codes are showing up on my 1950′s game boy scan tool and the check engine light doesn’t turn on. You can hear it misfires a little though.

Any suggestions on what the hell is going on?
or what I should replace?

thank you
Few people told me that they had the same problem with there cars when the Crank Shaft Sensor shit the bed and other said when one of their Injectors was going so no gas was going into the cylinder causing the “misfire.”

of and btw don’t bother answering if your going to talk to be like you 5 years old.

Sounds like you have a definite air freshner problem.Did you get the correct scent??? Seriously ,sounds like you have a timing problem,The engine system is detecting the “noise” and trying to compensate.Your Boy Wonder Super Duper scanner may not be able to detect much of anything(sorry!) Get a pro to check it out.
