No. True High-Intensity Discharge (HID) lamps require different sockets and different wiring, including a transformer for installation. They do not just drop in, and aftermarket kits are probably illegal to use on public streets and highways.

Colored halogen lamps that are sometimes marketed as ‘HID’ are definitely illegal.

No, they won’t work, and they may melt the wiring/connector on you lamp assembly.

Yes, you can install HID’s directly to your stock system.
Your car uses the H4 bulbs so you would need a H4 kit.
The H4 Bi Xenon kits will retain your high beams (you will still have low and high beams)
or the H4 single beam kits will give you only “low” beams

The single beam kits are $125
The Bi xenon kits are $200

We also carry the HID look bulbs at $24 a pair.

You can install on your stock headlight housing. The size that I am showing is an h4 however. You can get this in a hi/ low system where the low beams are the xenons and hi are halogen or you can get the bi-xenon where both are powered by hids. Check these guys out I have bought a few kits through them http://www.carhidkits.com/nissan-90/ and will buy more for my customers.
