4 Door 1992 Honda Civic Ex

When i drive at night and i turn my headlights on, the dashboard lights go off. And theres no lights on the speedometer or the shifter so when i drive at night i drive in the dark. the dashboard dimmer/brightner switch doesnt work either. Has anyone else had this problem or know what to do ?

Check the taillight fuse first. It might be blown. Generally, when your dashboard lights are out, your taillights are out. They work hand and hand. If the left side is out, the left taillight is out. If the right side is out, the right taillight is out. Anyway, check the fuse (under the driver’s side of the dash) and replace the taillight bulbs. If that doesn’t work, take it to a mechanic. Still I am almost certain that the steps I just mentioned will correct the problem.

always replace a fuse with another fuse with the same rating AMP
if its good
you might have a wire problem like corrosion or loose ground or bad wire
