I got a po420 trouble code on my 1996 Toyota Tercel and was told to first try cleaning the oxygen sensor.

    You don’t clean it you replace it, they are inexpensive enough. By the time you take it out, you may as well install a new one.

    If a clean rag won’t work, you don’t want to clean it. Replacing it is actually EASIER than cleaning it.
