Why Does My Car Have A Vibration At Idle After Warmed Up

Posted in Internal Engine Parts | Asked on Nov 30, 2011

I’ve replaced distributor cap, rotor, spark plugs & wires. Plugs looked great, no fouling. I’ve added Chevron fuel cleaner. I can’t reach the fuel filter to change it. The only other question I have is the air intake hose which has a tear in it. It’s been sealed with duct tape for years and reinforced recently. Could that actually be the issue? The idle vibration stops if the engine is slightly revved. Any suggestions? Could it be a fuel filter issue? It’s a 95 Mazda Protege, excellent car, great gas mileage still.

It sounds like a engine mount is bad, probably the front lower one.jap car tech 9yrs.

While you were performing Duct Tape Maintenance, did you
by chance knock a vacuum hose loose or maybe even have
split one…. Check out your vacuum hoses, and connections.

The pre-heater tube shouldn’t be the problem here.
