How Much Damage Is Caused When Putting Your Car In Park While Driving At 1520 MPH
Posted in Internal Engine Parts | Asked on Aug 8, 2011My friends were messing around, and one got in my car and started to drive off. The friend in the passenger side tried to stop him so he put the car in park causing it to make bad noises. My friend said my car would be fine, but I don’t think so considering the way it sounded when it stopped.

Such a move is not at all wise. It will destroy the parking pawl at the very least. Take it to a shop and let them pay for the repairs.
Ouch. If it still holds in park the nothing was damaged. Just try to not let this happen again.
Not a good thing to do. That can cause serious wear or damage to the parking gear and the pawl which engages the parking gear slots.
It probably stripped the gears. if it still works good then all i can say your are lucky. that,s not a good thing to do. you have a chance of tearing the park and the reverse since you have to pass reverse to get to park.
