How Many Miles Can A 1992 Honda Civic DX Get Before It Stops Working

Right now my car is about to die breaks are going out and the engine is overheating because the fan is not working and it stalls alot. It has always had alot of things wrong with it and it has alot of mileage on it + it gets terrible gas mileage like 20 mpg. I am looking at buying a honda civic DX for $900 dollars and it currently has 220,000 miles on it I know that is alot but the only thing wrong with it is that the AC doesn’t work and 2 windows don’t work. The lady is selling it because she has a new baby and needs a car that will be cool enough for the baby during the summer. How many more miles do you think it has left and is it worth 900$?
Also do you know the price it usually costs to get a car checked out before buying it like at a mechanic?
I don’t want to lease something because I don’t want to have payments every month I would rather be able to just buy it and not owe anything because I am going to college next year and most of the money I make needs to go for that because I don’t want to have tons of loans…

Its not about how long they will last it depends on how well it was taken care of….I have a 1990 ford f150 that belonged to my grandpa and idk how many time the odometer has rolled over lol but it was always taken care of and it runs like new to this day. Do you really want to buy a car with problems? either lease a car in good condition or think about a motorcycle…you can get a lot out of a used motorcycle and spend 900-1300 and have reliable transportation.
The way that car sounds you will be putting A LOT of money into it. You might want to consider saving up 5k that can get you a GOOD car. or lease one , trust me. I bought a car for 500 dollars , it ended up costing me 4k … then it died and i had to sell it.
