Honda Civic 98 EX Very Bad Engine Problems Please Read

Posted in Internal Engine Parts | Asked on Dec 24, 2011

on my way to work this morning my Honda started acting up… as I was driving, my RPM would suddenly drop, causing me to lose forward momentum and speed and then It would go back to normal causing the car to jerk forward and the process gradually got worse and worse. Unsure what this could be, have had thousand of dollars of work done already. Fans, spark plugs, rotor, fuse block, fuel filter, and radiator along with new hoses and thermostat are all brand new…. could this be a timing issue? Also, the car overheats when Idling/parked and engine sounds much deeper and more loud than normal – any help will be greatly appreciated b4 i take it in later on.

Get rid of the money pit and buy a newer car

Could be an oil pump with the idling. Overheating could simply be that you need to check your thermostat. And the jerking, well that sounds like a clutch(if you got one), or possibly a transmission problem.

Best thing to do is just put in a new engine. Theirs places on line that you can get a new engine for just $1,900. If the car is overheating theirs a good Chance that the water pump is fried so you have to replace it.
