Chevy 305 350 Engine Parts Swap
Posted in Internal Engine Parts | Asked on May 16, 2010Need some info on these two motors, I need to know how similar the block and heads are, and any other parts? and if the same parts can be used on both? Have never worked on Chev’s before, thanks for your help

If the year is similar the blocks will be nearly identical except for cylinder bore, pistons, connecting rods, and crank shaft.
A 350 should bolt right up to an engine compartment that had a 305.
The heads, intake and exhaust manifolds, and oil pan should be interchangable.
ALL YOUR PARTS WILL FIT EXCEPT MAYBE FLY WHEEL AND HARMONIC BALANCER. THESE HAVE ADDED WEIGHT TO BALANCE ENGINE. YOUR GOOD.. ALSO SMALLER HEADS MAY FIT ON BIGGER BLOCK 350 BLOCK WITH 305 HEADS IS A GOOD COMBO.
