305 Tpi To Lt1 Conversion/ Northstar Etc Lt5

Posted in Internal Engine Parts | Asked on Jun 2, 2010

I know its possible to convert a l98 to a lt1, and people have done it with Lb9s as well, how hard is it, and what do you need to modify? I also have a cadillac northstar engine with a cracked block, can any parts go on my 305, heads etc? Will it be pointless? I already have a fresh 305, I dont want a 350.

305 has nothing in common with the northstar at all. And if you mean that you want to replace the l98 with an LT1 then that is fine you basically need a wiring harness and PCM if you are going to run fuel injection or look to http://www.sdpc2000.com for a normal intake and carburetor. But if you want to put LT1 components on an L98 that will not work very easily either. Find some vortec heads for the 305 and a holley 650 cfm carburetor and go slighty faster than stock.
