CHANGE YOUR PLUGS FOR ONE, AND TWO I WOULD CK THAT AIR FILTER. ALSO IS YOUR TRUCK A CARB OR FUEL INJ .???

  2. baldie says:

02 sensor can cause the plugs to get black, also make sure the throttle body is clean up inside it. if the fuel pump regulator is bad, it can put too much gas into the injectors and make the plugs black too.

  3. Mustanger says:

Plugged air filter, bad O2 sensor or a bad computer could cause it.

  4. boogie_4wheel says:

that is a TBI motor. FIrst I would check the air filter. Clean the plugs if they are still good, or replace them if necessary (check plug gap).

You also might have a leaking injector, and it is just pouring fuel down the throttle body. Remove the air filter housing, start the motor and look in the air horn for an excessive amount of fuel coming from the injector(s). If it were an O2 sensor, the check engine light should come on…
