No triton wont matter because all 2005 5.4l will be triton

  2. Hank Scorpio says:

Correct (as long as you haven’t added forced induction). Triton is just an engine series designation nothing more.

The only other thing they might ask is the 8th digit of the VIN # . which will determine exactly what engine the truck has . ( because there are two different 5.4 liters ) one is a 3 valve engine and the other is a 2 valve engine .

P.S. Stick with the BRAND of plugs the truck originally came with . ( in this case ford uses Motorcraft ) Also be very aware that if you have the 3 valve engine , there is a VERY , VERY special procedure for removing the plugs . They have problems with breaking off in the head and may require head removal . Not trying to scare ya , but this has been a very big issue , lawsuits and stuff . Google it and you’ll see what I mean .

On the other hand , if your engine is the 2 valve , you have nothing to fear , except the fact that it’s a pain in the neck to do .
