Problems With 1997 Jeep Cherokee Stalling Out And Backfiring And Suggestions

Posted in Ignition Systems | Asked on May 26, 2010

The jeep had about 160,000 miles, we have just replaced the transmission and not we have problems with it cutting off. It acts as if it is not getting enough fuel. The RPMs go down and if you press the gas nothing happens it still just cuts off. We have replaced several parts. We have replaced the TPS sensor, ignition coil, O2 sensor, fuel regulator, and several mufflers due to the backfiring. each time we replace a part it seems to do better for a day or so and then it is back to the same old thing. It cranks back up after a short while and sometimes it runs fine. Any Suggestions?
