My JEEP Keeps Dying At Regular Running Temp, Why
Posted in Ignition Systems | Asked on Aug 10, 2010Why does my 1989 Jeep Cherokee die at REGULAR running temp and not start again until it cools off.?
I’ve replaced the crank shaft sensor as well as the ignition coil. But it still dies at regular running temperature. and it wont start again until it cools off.
To all of you out there that think this is the thermostat, it’s not. A thermostat in a 1989 Jeep Cherokee will not cause it to die.

check your battery, and antifresee
What about your temp sensor? In my vehilce there is the thermostat and I have an individual temperature gauge sensor. It could send a faulty code to the computer.
It does sounds like an over heating issue.
Actually if I were you I would remove the thermostat and see what happens its easy to do. Put the housing and hose back on without the thermostat in it I bet you will be surprised and if there is no stalling get a new one. But if you want to leave it out for awhile make should you get a new one in there before winter weather hits.
it was the ignition module
