My Car Wont Start After Replacing Spark Plugs/distributor Cap And Rotor

Posted in Ignition Systems | Asked on Jun 4, 2010

I have a 1995 Honda Accord lx. Now my car will not start! It sounds like his death just before the start when I turn the key, but then it’s easy. What are some things should I check? I gapped the plugs. 040.Ich I’m pretty sure I have the correct fireing order. The firing order is 1 3 4 2

i would start with the firing order as that has a lot to do with starting the engine. Chances are you just ripped everything out and put your new stuff in without marking anything.

it sounds like u mixed the spark plug wires

  3. Gee says:

Hum, check the firing order and please make sure the plug wires are in the “correct” location… Before you changed the plugs it worked fine? IF so, that’s probably the problem…

first thing check the battery. also did you get the plug wires on right ?

  5. Ed R says:

Yup! sure sounds like u got the wires mixed up. They should all go in the same place they came out from.

IVE WORKED ON A FEW HONDA’S AND WHEN YOU REPLACE THE CAP AND ROTOR YOU SHOULD ALWAYS DISCONNECT THE BATTERY. FOR SOME REASON THE COIL SHORTS OUT WHILE REMOVING THE CAP. SO TAKE A LOOK AT YOUR COIL IM SURE THATS WHAT IT IS.
