My 01 Cr250r Is Fouling Up The Spark Plugs In One Day

Posted in Ignition Systems | Asked on Aug 7, 2010

I recently purchased a 2001 honda cr250r (2-stroke) from craigslist 3 weeks ago. it is now starting to foul the spark plugs and wont start until you clean them. the gas:oil mix is 32:1 and i noticed it has been putting out alot of smoke recently. i am going to clean the air filter. i am thinking the weather has to do with it also, the temperature is 30-40 degrees F, what else should i do? thanks!

air filter needs to be cleaned . if not then your motor might be going south . two strokes dont last long and its a 2001 ……

    take it to the mechanic

32:1 is a little rich on oil, if previous owner used this ratio, probably used synthetic oil, always run highest octane fuel available. Dirty air filter won’t help either. If you can do a compression test , should have at least 110 lbs. Top end could be worn out.
