I Have A ’95 Dodge Van 318 Motor, It Went Dead And We Have Replaced Fuel Pump, Distributor Cap And Rotary.

   Spark plugs and wires maybe? Both have caused that problem for me. The wires go bad more often than you think.

   Check the Crank sensor to make sure it isnt broken or disconnected

   maybe it is the brain. if they go nothing works. that is if your car has one. also check plugs and wires plugs may need gaped and changed

   It’ll probably cost you more than it is worth. I suggest getting a good used car.

   look in the underhood fuse panel and find the ASD relay.
   switch that with a different relay that isnt needed for the van to run, like the ac relay or head lights.
   the ASD(auto shutdown) relay controls fuel pump, spark and injector pulse.

   Pick-up in the Distributor ! or Coil-but I doubt it. Is the rotor turning ok – Do U have Compression – Do U have fuel going to the cylinders ? Some have a oil pressure switch that won’t let the engine fire IF there is NO Oil Pressure ! Do U have solid voltage one one side of the Coil & pulsating Voltage on the other side of the coil?

   Do you have spark? If not, it is most likely the magnetic pickup in the distributor.

   Rather than throwing parts at the problem, have the vehicle computer scanned to find out where the real problem is!!

    Not much of a description here.”It went dead…..but it turns over fine”? “It turns over fine,just won,t crank”? If it cranks over first check to see if you have fuel pressure at fuel test port (port on the fuel rail) with a black plastic cap,then verify if you have spark (remove the easiest spark plug wire and use spark tester or put a screwdriver in the end and place it near a ground and have a helper crank the engine over while watching)And depending on which of these you are lacking you can proceed from there. Crank shaft position senors are a common cause of a no start as are distributor pick-ups on these vehicles.But you have to eliminate things one at a time.
