I would go and get a repair manual for the van. In their they will show the cap and how it should be wired
I was waiting to see if somebody more knowledgable would answer this question.
I’m 90% sure that the correct answer is, “it doesn’t matter.” The device sends electricity to each of the lines in turn, but since it’s a mechanical arm it doesn’t really have a “first” or “last,” just a firing order. So if they’re in order, it doesn’t matter which is first and which is last.
Here’s the wiki if it helps.

it does matter, 1st, go to owners manual, or similar book, then slap the dummy that did it!!!
line up the distriburtor to the number one cylender than get new wires and find the longest one and place it on the first spark plug on the passenger side and just work clock wise around the distributor cap and each wire will be approximately 3 inches shorter than the other and do the same for the other side
put number 1 cylinder all the way up and turn the crank by hand till top dead center(on the 0) and see which way the rotor turns and start there and go around by the firing order.
Go to a local parts store and buy a Haynes Manual for that year Astro. Never have a used car without a Haynes manual in the back seat. Be the best $20 invenstment for the car you will make.
If it is a V-8, the firing order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2. The cylinders are numbered like this… starting at the front, moving backwards, driver’s side is 1-3-5 and 7. Passenger side is 2-4-6 and 8.
The distributor cap order starts with the one at the front, drivers side, sorta pointing to the number 1 cylinder. Then its numbered in a clockwise direction in the firing order. (18436572)
look in ur owners manual, but if u dont have a manual…… you’re fucked
