Chevy Lumina Car Troubles
Posted in Ignition Systems | Asked on Jun 6, 2010I have a 1991 Chevrolet Lumina Euro 3 A V6, which has run recently, with some difficulty. The problem seems to be something coming from electrical to exposed to water. If I let him go long enough time, it will simply die when the ice melts enough, or if I hit a big puddle, it dies immediately. I have to put a new ignition coil, but I do not know where is the old ignition coil. I also found some dog food from some type of rodent in my exhaust manifold, it could be a bare wire. How can I best trouble shoot the problem yourself? Are there any cheap [less than $ 100] parts should I buy and replace that easily?

make sure that your distributor cap is on all the way or you dont have any plug wires unpluged or cut open
Don’t change the coil (there are 3 of them) until you find out what’s wrong. I have seen nests under the intake plenum myself, so you may be on the right track, as the critters eat insulation off the wire harnesses.
