300e Mercedes Start Engine Miss In Idle After 20 Minutes

Posted in Ignition Systems | Asked on Jul 1, 2010

I have a 300e Mercedes Benz. The engine has a miss in idle after 20 minutes of the car being on. I have already replaced plugs and wires. I have also checked the distributor cap and it is OK. I have taken it to mechanics with no luck. What is wrong and how can I fix it?

You have an EGR issue. Replace the EGR valve and the problem will go away.

Be sure to replace the tubes and all of the fittings when you do the repair. The tubes get clogged with carbon, and you want all of the connections to be tight.

If you have taken it to mechanics (more than one), who have physically looked under the hood, what makes you think that someone can diagnose your car over a computer monitor? Any guesses here would be just that…guesses (and that is an expensive and time consuming way to try to fix a car).

Take it to a dealer or a reputable shop that and let them try to diagnose your car properly.
