1995 Nissan Quest Nearing 200,000 Miles

I have a 1995 Nissan Quest XE with 192,000 miles. Original engine and transmission. One owner and only regular maintenance has ever been done: water pump, timing belt, spark plugs, distributor cap, etc. Normal city and highway driving and have not seen winter in past four years and still drives great.

I’m planning on a new set tires for my van, basic $45 tires. My question is because my van has almost 200,000 miles, is it nearing the end of it’s life and not worth new tires but used tires instead? And at 200K what are some things I should look out for?

Also, what’s your highest mileage vehicle and how did it ended? or is it still going?

My wife’s friend is trying to corner the market on those things. She has three and all have broken timing belts and won’t crank. All have around 135,000 miles. She loves them. I have a dodge ram van, 1982, that is still going though on it’s third trans. It has 358,000 miles and has been burnt down on the freeway with no water twice. Once I actually had to pour water into the carb to stop it. And never repaired it, just put in some bars leak after replacing the busted hose.

my grand father owned the same kind of van and it finally died at 458000km. so your van has along way togo until its dead so get the new tires.
