1994 Ford F150 Duel Tank. The Truck Is Not Getting Fuel To The Engine And I Dont Know What To Do

Posted in Ignition Systems | Asked on Jun 24, 2010

1994 Ford f-150. One day I pulled the truck out the drive way and it was fine. Two hours later I go to pull it in and it will turn over but not start. I have replaced: distributor, distributor cap, wires, hall effect switch, coil, and more electrical parts. Then I take off the fuel filter and go to crank it and no fuel is coming from the tanks. The inertia switch is not tripped or bad. There is gas in the tanks. I have tried both tanks and nothing comes out. I highly doubt both pumps went bad at the same time. All fuses and relays are good.I have not dropped the tanks to see if there is anything up there, I am trying to avoid that if at all possible. Please if anyone has an idea, I need the truck to run. checked voltage at reap pump connection only reading 5 to 7 volt

there,s 1 way of finding out if it,s the fuel pumps. unhook the fuel line before it goes into the filter and turn the key on. if fuel comes out then you can rule out the fuel pumps. check to see if both pumps run off the same fuse. also it,s possibly could be the fuel pump regulator on the fuel rail not letting the fuel reach the injectors.

I’m not trying to be mean, but I don’t believe you when you say that all relays are good. You replaced a dozen other parts without verifying they were bad. I doubt you properly verified the relays were good. An audible click doesn’t mean it’s good.

When you turn the ignition to ON, then you should see all the lights on the dash come on. If the check engine light isn’t on, then you don’t have power to the computer, or the fuel pump. It’ll crank, but won’t fire up because it won’t have fuel pressure or injector pulse or spark.

I suspect you’re getting neither fuel nor spark. I think that’s why you replaced all those ignition components. This problem is usually a bad relay for the engine computer.
