I’m pretty sure the 380 code is for the glow plug system, which would need diagnosed, not just replacing parts. The glow plugs have a certain amount of resistance. If the module receives a different amount of resistance than whats expected,it throws the code. You may have a bad glow plug, possibly a couple. Also, the glow plug module needs programmed after installation.

I don’t know why you changed the glow plug module.

If your truck last 8#s of the VIN fall between
      2004 silverado 4E100143 and 4E219578
      4F100082 and 4F174734

      2004 sierra 4E100062 and 4E221355
      4F100094 and 4F174119

Here’s what you need to do…
Have the vehicle towed to the nearest CHEVY or GMC dealer depending on your model. (here’s why)
#07057 special coverage adjustment for code p0380 (not a recall) :

Some customers of 2002-04 model year Chevrolet Silverado; and GMC Sierra trucks, equipped with a 6.6L diesel V8 (LB7) engine, and California emissions may experience a condition where the engine glow plugs may fail. Failure of the glow plugs on these vehicles will cause illumination of the MIL. Also, depending on the ambient cold start conditions and the number of glow plugs failing open, some customers may also comment about hard starting, misfiring and white smoking after cold start.
This special coverage covers the condition described above for a period of 10 years or 200,000 miles
Dealers are to replace failed glow plug(s). The repairs will be made at no charge to the customer.

So In essence if you have multiple open glow plugs your truck will not start.
But I would call the dealer first and explain the situation to them and tell them about the p0380 and the special policy

The complexity of the electronic controls on this engine requires a factory scan tool to properly diag a no start condition you have.believe me just take it to a dealer and pay them to ck it
